EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW.... ALL IN ONE PLACE

Where to start? The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the greatest art museums in the world. Across Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History includes everything from dinosaurs to giant jewels to a state-of-the-art planetarium. And then there's the Whitney (reopening May 1 in the Meatpacking District), the Guggenheim, the Frick...the list is endless.

For the most comprehensive guide to what's currently on exhibit, visit NYCGo, the city's official tourism website.

NOTE: Almost every museum has a day (once a week or once a month) when admission is reduced or free, usually for a few hours in the evening. Check http://freemuseumday.org/nyc.html for a (mostly) comprehensive list.

Also, keep in mind that some museums, like the Met, suggest high admission prices that are actually donations. You can pay any amount you wish, as long as you pay something.
